Was Marilyn Monroe "Lazy" and "Talentless"?

In a completely unfair assessment, an article from The Mail Online describes Marilyn Monroe as “talentless, lazy and self-absorbed”; however, this statement is a subjective opinion rather than an objective fact.

The amount of comments I have seen saying that Marilyn had simply “slept her way to the top” or the idea that she didn’t work for her craft is quite extraordinary considering the amount of first hand accounts from those who worked with her. In fact her co-stars and many of those who worked with Marilyn would say that she was far from lazy, and she was certainly not talentless. Self-absorbed? Well, perhaps at times. However, right now, let’s focus on her work ethic and what she and others had to say about it…
